After we came back from Accra I moved up to house 1 to live with Amy and Angela. Amy is a Nurse Practitioner that came a while back and is here for 4 months. Angela is with the Journey Men program and is the Hewitt kids school teacher. So far I have really enjoyed living with them. This week is our week to host Station Meeting, Station Meeting is where all the missionaries and whatever volunteers that want to get together and have a church service. We sing and then some talks or we watch a video or something, it is really great to fellowship with other believers in a more informal setting than Sunday morning. Especially in Africa where the service is often in Mampruli and you can not understand it. After Station Meeting we always have dessert, so as we were preparing for Station Meeting I was cutting up some fruit and Angela was making a pound cake for dessert. Angela had mixed it all together and had just put it in the oven and noticed that the gas was low. Here the ovens are hooked up to a big gas bottle, the bottle is about twice the size of the ones that you would hook up to a grill and when they go out you have to have maintenance come and change it out. The only thing is that maintenance leaves about 4:30 and they had just left when we were putting the cake in the oven, so we had to run over to Megans house and see if we could cook it at her house since we were almost out of gas. She very kindly let us cook the cake at her house.
